The fact that every aspect of this is both terrible and terribly done is the whole & only point, just a career-length shaggy dog story with no punchlines in sight. Re-stated as an elevator pitch, this is Lil B mixed with Death Grips and filtered through 8chan. It’s exhausting.
There is a global glut of crackers making cover songs like this, hundreds of niche sub-genres, each name dumber than the last. All of them act like Grand Buffet never happened. Now those two were some genuine fucking weirdos, but they could get onstage in front of a room of strangers and sell it, anywhere in America. These chucklefucks here can’t even cut a decent take in their own bedrooms, which is doubly depressing because they’re not even trying to rap.
Hell, they’re not even trying to be heard half the time. The beats are always blown the fuck out, more of an endurance contest than a backdrop. Their performances are an afterthought, which is why the videos have to stay so busy. Props to MADEBYJUNKFOOD for crafting a credible World Peace forgery here, but a group of dweebs standing around in front of a camera will never be a winning recipe. Every single dude in this room looks like he’s worried his parents will wake up.
Christ Dillinger has parlayed his strong, deliberately cultivated resemblance to the OG Based God into something resembling an actual music career. Getting brain-damaged Discord refugees to bring their phones to a venue & pay USD for tickets is an undeniably impressive accomplishment; what it cost his soul is another story. Acid Souljah also embodies his aesthetic, looking like a cross between a 40 year old video store clerk and a 10 year old girl: a natural born school shooter, in other words.
The rest of this is not even worth addressing. Million Dollar Extreme has actual balls and actual jokes, these kids can’t even keep a straight face reading their own lines yet. This doesn’t work at any level, despite all the work that went into the video itself. Zero Dickies. Irony has never been less fun and these bitches are all weak.
